The Power of Belief: Rising With God In The Darkest Moments
When life feels heavy and hopeless, believing in a higher power, especially in God and His son Jesus, can bring peace, clarity, and strength like nothing else. In my darkest moments, it was through leaning on Him that I rose again, and HerRise was born from that very journey of faith and renewal.

There’s a quiet kind of strength that comes when we finally acknowledge that we’re not meant to carry it all on our own.
For much of my life, especially in the most painful, confusing, and broken chapters, I’ve learned this one life-changing truth: believing in a higher power changes everything. For me, that higher power is God, and His son Jesus, who walked this earth to show us what unconditional love and redemption look like.
But whether you were raised in the church, grew up questioning everything, or still aren’t quite sure what you believe in, I hope this speaks to your spirit. Because here’s what I’ve discovered: when we surrender the idea that we have to figure it all out alone, we make room for something divine to enter in.
And that is where the real rising begins.
A Peace That Can’t Be Imitated
I’ve experienced the kind of pain that makes you question everything; the kind that keeps you up at night, the kind that makes you feel small and unseen. But in those moments, when nothing made sense and no person could offer me the right words, God was there.
He didn’t always give me the answers right away. But He gave me something even more powerful: peace. Not the fleeting kind you get from a good distraction or temporary relief, but the kind that settles deep into your bones and whispers, “You’re going to make it through this.”
That peace has carried me more times than I can count.
Questions Turned Into Knowing
When you begin to build a relationship with God, your doubts don’t disappear overnight, but they do start to quiet down. The confusion, the fear, the “why me?” moments, they begin to unravel and transform. The questions still exist, but they’re now met with a trust that you are seen, loved, and guided by something far greater than yourself.
There is nothing like the clarity and strength that grows when you’re in communion with your Creator.
He Was With Me at Rock Bottom
HerRise—this blog, this space, this mission was born out of pain. But more importantly, it was born out of a comeback. And not just any comeback, but one I never would’ve had the strength to make on my own. In my lowest moments, it was my faith in God that helped me stand again.
When the world made me feel unworthy, He reminded me I was chosen.
When life made me feel broken, He reminded me I was made whole in Him.
When my dreams felt impossible, He whispered, “Rise.”
And so I did.
You Can Rise Too
No matter where you are right now, whether you feel far from God or don’t know where to begin—know this: He is closest to the brokenhearted. You are never too far gone. You are never too unworthy. You are never too late.
If you seek Him, you will find Him.
If you lean on Him, He will lift you.
If you rise, it will be because of Him.
Final Thoughts
I don’t write these words lightly. I write them from experience, from heartache, and from the deepest kind of healing. Believing in God and building a relationship with Him has been the most alleviating, strengthening, and freeing choice of my life.
And if you’re ready, He’ll do the same for you.
Let Him be your reason to rise.
With love and faith,
Maveline
