Maveline
My name is Maveline. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States at the age of seven — a transition that became one of the biggest shaping forces in my life. As an immigrant, I learned independence early on, often stepping up to advocate for my family in spaces where language was a barrier. It taught me resilience, maturity, and how to navigate life with strength long before I fully understood what that meant.
Being a first-generation college graduate from Rutgers, I walked that journey alone too — figuring things out as I went, with no blueprint, just grit and grace. Life hasn’t always been gentle, and I’ve faced more than my share of uncertainty. But through every challenge, I’ve stayed grounded in my belief that I’m meant to rise — and I have.
Now, I want to be a light for other young women who’ve felt like they had to figure out life, womanhood, and even their own softness all on their own. This space is for us — for blooming despite it all, and for reclaiming every part of ourselves with beauty, strength, and heart.
